Welcome to Martin Luther Church
Martin Luther Church, as a congregation, welcomes and celebrates the richness and diversity of all God’s people, regardless of where they’ve come from or where they are in their life’s journey. Therefore, we follow the teaching of 2 Corinthians 5:18: “All this is from God who reconciled us through Jesus Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.”

We believe that the good news of Jesus Christ is to be shared by all people without regard to age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or physical or mental abilities. All are welcome as members of the Body of Christ as workers in the kingdom of God, and at the table of our Lord.

LeftCrossSunday Morning Adult Classes
September 12 , 2010
9:15 a.m. at MLC
Sunday morning adult classes are beginning again on September 12! We will continue in the Book of Faith series with "A Great-Grandma to a King, a King-maker, a King and a Royal Pain: Ruth, Samuel, David, Elijah." This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about some of the people who made history happen in the Old Testament. Join the group on Sundays at 9:15 a.m. in the Stensberg Conference Room.

Women's Bible Study
September 13 , 2010
7:00 p.m. at MLC
All women of MLC meet for a once-a-month, 90 minute, in-depth study of Philippians led by Pastor Richard Weeden. Classes are held the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Stensberg Conference room. Walk-ins will be welcomed.

Men's Bible Study
September 20, 2010
7:00 p.m. at MLC
All men of the congregation are invited to meet at 7:00 p.m. on the third Monday of each month, with Pastor Richard Weeden leading the sessions. The group is presently studying Galatians.

WELCA Bible Study
September 14, 2010
6:00 p.m. at MLC
WELCA Bible study group will meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. and will be using the Lutheran Woman Today study. This year's theme is "The People of God: Unity in the Midst of Diversity." The study is based on the Book of Faith initiative of the ELCA, and begins with a study of how we actually read the Bible. Biblical interpretation is at the root of many of the differences that divide us and it can be a way we learn from each other. As we discover how others read the Bible, we find new ways to think about it. Join us for some relaxing discussion and relationship building along the way! The first meeting will be held September 14.

SAVE THE DATES!

September 8, 7:00 a.m. - The MLC Adult Choir will resume rehearsals on Wednesday, September 8 at 7 p.m. in the choir room. New singers are always welcome to join us. You do not need an extensive background in singing, just a passion for music in worship. Contact Lani Knutson (414-477-9364) if you have questions.

September 12, 12:00 p.m. - Confirmation classes will resume on September 12 for our 6th-9th graders. The twelve students in grades 6-8 meet together every other week for a 2 hour class (including lunch, provided by different families each week.) This year they will be covering the topics of the Lord's Prayer, the 10 Commandments, and Building the Christian Church. The class will be team-taught by Scott Manske, Deb Burks, and Pastor Kris. The two 9th graders will be meeting once a month with their mentors to prepare for Confirmation Sunday on Palm Sunday. Please pray for our youth and teachers throughout this year.

October 3 - Martin Luther Book Group is reading the book "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" by David Wroblewski. The Book Group will gather to review it at its next meeting Sunday, October 3. Everyone is welcome to join the discussion. Contact Katy Almond 414.454.0487 or Carla Stensberg 262.821.5454.

Sunday, September 12 - Noon, RALLY DAY and Church Picnic on MLC grounds.
Rally Day is when all of the MLC family comes together to celebrate Fall, when the regular programs resume their schedules, church services are back to 8:00 A.M. and 10:30 A.M., and Adult Forum and Sunday School are at 9:15 A.M. But best of all, we kick off fall with our annual church picnic on MLC grounds at noon. Families are asked to bring a picnic dish to pass (please provide a serving utensil). Grilling meat, buns, and beverages will be provided. A free-will offering will be taken to defray the cost of food, beverages, and picnic supplies. The Mennonite Church will be joining us for the fun that day. Activities will be provided for the youngsters. Sign up now and let us know how many of you are coming. Join us everyone.
